My  name is Katie Dickson. I am from Greensboro, NC. I was born in Pittsburgh, P.A,  and have lived in Atlanta and Norfolk as well. I am Elementary Education major. I want to teach either kindergarten or the first grade.  I cannot wait to become a teacher. I love spending time with children and cannot wait to wake up and go to a job that I love.

Here is what I like…

I love the water! I grew up swimming year round, and it has always been something I go to when I am stressed. I grew up living on a lake, and really miss waking up to the beautiful scenery. One day I hope to live on a lake or beach. Being close to any body of water makes me happy.

Other things that I like…

I love spending time with my family. I am from Greensboro, N.C, and love it so much. I am the oldest of four children. I have a sister, who is a Sophomore at N.C State, a brother, who is a senior in high school, and a “baby” brother, who is in the second grade. I miss my youngest brother, Christopher, all the time. He has brought so much happiness into my life. He makes me laugh all the the time. Being around my family always makes me happy. I also love the beach, summer, watermelon, fireworks, bonfires, and anything that requires warm weather and having fun.

What I look like…

First off, I have one green eye and one blue eye. You can really tell when I take pictures. My dad has green eyes, and my mom has blue eyes, so I was able to get one of each. I used to have long blonde hair, but I recently cut it. I’m about 5 feet 3 inches tall. My sister is a little younger than me, but people say we look very alike.

What I act like…

I lOVE to laugh. I feel that laughter is the cure to anything. I find myself always laughing aloud to myself and then become embarrassed. Which is another quality of mine, I am easily embarrassed, which is a quality I don’t really care for. I am a very loving person. I find life to be too short to not be caring and loving towards others. I can be very sensitive at times. Overall, I like to act nice to all people, because life is too short to hold grudges and be rude to others.

What I dislike…

RATS! I really dislike rats. Their tales are too long, and their feet are ugly. It bothers me that they are also so fast. If I were to see a rat, outside of a cage, I don’t know what I would do.

Another thing I strongly dislike is being wet & cold. For some reason I am miserable when I am wet and cold. On the first day of class sophomore year in college it rained. I did not have a umbrella and I had to walk 15 minutes across campus in the pouring rain. By the time I got to class I was drenched and freezing cold. Needless to say, that was the worst day of class I have ever had.

Grapefruit is something else I don’t like. I have always thought it tasted like a cleaning product. It still puzzles me how people eat and enjoy grapefruit.
